Description

This is a late 18th or early 19th century house and shop located in a row on Broad Street, Modbury. The building has smooth rendered walls and a slate roof. It is three storeys high with two windows on the front. The ground floor features modern plate glass display windows and a recessed garage door where a throughway once existed. The first and second floors have 12-pane sash windows set within flush boxes. A substantial gable stack is situated on the right-hand side. The building was likely constructed as a pair with No. 9, reflecting a traditional scale that contrasts with the adjacent Victorian buildings.
