Description
This building, known as House and Chatter Box, is a late-Georgian style shop and house that stands three storeys tall and has three bays. The front is finished in whitened roughcast, with some parts renewed in scribed cement render. It features a slate roof and a brick stack on the left side. The shop has a modern 20th-century front, which includes plate glass windows on the right and left, each with three smaller panes above a transom. The central entrance consists of recessed double doors with a frosted-glass overlight, and to the right, there is a boarded passage door.
On the first floor, there are 12-pane hornless sash windows, while the second floor has similar but shorter 6-pane windows. The rear of the building, which has two windows, is constructed of rubble stone. The lower storey windows are boarded up, and to the left, there is a recessed replacement passage door. Other windows in this section are hornless sashes. The first floor features a tall 18-pane stair window on the left and a 12-pane window on the right, both set under a brick segmental head. The upper storey has two 16-pane windows. The building has been modernised.
