Description

This is a narrow house with a shop, likely originating in the 17th century but with a later 19th-century facade. It is situated in a row on the north side of Broad Street, Modbury. The building is rendered to imitate ashlar, with a slate roof topped with decorative cresting. It has two stories and an attic. The front has one window. At ground floor level is a square, three-light plate glass display window, beneath a canted four-pane sash bay with a flat roof. A small, raking dormer is located off-centre to the right, containing a two-light casement window with glazing bars. A 20th-century glazed door is on the far left, leading to garages. The garages are not of particular interest. To the extreme right is a recessed water supply point with a red brick arched surround. A pilaster on the left retains a residual bracket or finial. A large, external rendered stack is situated on the left.
