Description

A pair of mid-19th century houses forming a row. The houses are built with cement rendering and have slate roofs. They have two storeys and two plus two windows, with sash windows; the upper sashes have margin panes. Each house has a canted bay with sash windows under a hipped slate roof at its outer bay. The bay to number 40 has dentilled and moulded eaves. Centred to each property is an arched doorway with a 19th century flush panelled door and a simple glass fanlight. To the right of number 40, another arched opening features a part-glazed door and a deeper fanlight, creating an open throughway. Brick stacks are located at the left gable and the centre ridge. The interior has not been inspected.
