Description

Tumbledown is a house located on Elwell Street in Upwey, dating from the early to mid 19th century. The building is rendered with a slate roof and consists of two storeys featuring two windows. All windows are 2-light small pane wood casements, including a central gabled dormer from the 19th century. The windows have slight segmental heads and are replacements that have been carefully detailed; the previous listing indicates that the ground floor originally had sash windows. The house has a central gabled porch with a glazed door, a brick stack on the left gable, and raised rendered verges. It is likely that the roof was originally thatched. The interior has not been inspected.
