Description

Sunny South is a pair of houses built in the early to mid 19th century, located on the north side of Elwell Street in Upwey, Weymouth. The houses are constructed of rubble with asbestos-cement slate roofs. Each house is symmetrical, featuring two storeys and two windows, with all windows being three-light wood casements that have horizontal bars beneath haunched brick segmental heads. Number 52 has a plank door, while number 54 has a part-glazed door set beneath a 20th-century glazed gabled porch. To the left of each house are flush dressed quoins, and both houses have high raised verges, indicating that their roofs were once thatched. There is a brick stack on the left gable of each house. The interior has not been inspected.
