Description
The pair of houses at 4 and 5 Wooda Road, Launceston, date from the 18th century. They are built with a timber frame and rendered on the exterior, with a steep asbestos slate roof. A large rendered rubble stack is a prominent feature on the left side. The houses have a single-depth plan with extensions.
The front façade is a two-storey, two-window range. Number 4 (on the right) has 20th-century four-pane casement windows; the upper window is positioned directly above the ground-floor window. Number 5 has late 19th-century four-pane sash windows with horns; the upper window is higher up than the ground-floor one. A 20th-century lean-to porch with a ledged door serves Number 4, while Number 5 has an early 19th-century six-panel door with two glazed panels at the top. The interior was not inspected.
