Description

Isalene is a small, detached house dating from the early 19th century. The ground floor is rendered on rubble, while the front of the first floor is slate-hung on studwork. The roof is of slate with projecting eaves and a cast-iron ogee gutter. There are brick and rendered stacks, the latter heightened with brick, with old clay pots. The house follows a shallow-depth plan and presents a three-window front. The original 16-pane horned sash window is located immediately to the right of the central doorway, which has a 20th-century three-panel door and an open-gabled hood supported by shaped wooden brackets. The interior has not been inspected. To the left, a slate-coped wall is attached and linked to a low front wall with 20th-century iron railings. To the right of the house, there is a small, single-storey rubble outbuilding with a slate roof.
