Description
23 and 25 Blossom Street are two mid-19th century houses located in York. They are built of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. The houses are a mirrored pair, each with three storeys, cellars, and an attic, and consist of two bays. The windows are glazing bar sashes set within stone architraves. The ground and first floor architraves have cornices, and on the first floor, they include a sill band and pulvinated friezes. Each house has a small flat-roofed dormer with a glazing bar sash. The outer bays feature doorcases with engaged Doric columns, fanlights, and doors that have six sunken panels; the upper two panels of the door for No. 23 are now glazed. There are narrow openings to passageways at the far left and right, both with semicircular arched heads, and the right-hand opening has iron gates. A timber modillion gutter cornice is present between shaped kneeler brackets, and there is a chimney located between the houses at the front of the ridge. The interior has not been inspected.
