Description

ZENNOR SW 43 NW 3/234 Higher Porthmeor Farmhouse - GV II Farmhouse and adjoining walls at either end. Circa early C19. Granite rubble walls with granite dressings. Asbestos slate roof with brick chimneys over the gable ends. Slurried scantle slate over rear porch. Plan: shallow double-depth plan. 2 rooms at the front with cross passage between leading probably to stair between shallower rear service rooms. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 2 window south-east front. C20 door. Original 12- pane hornless sashes, right, and C20 windows, left. Rear has central lean-to porch with side entrance. Circa late C19 sashes. Interior: not inspected. Walls adjoin at front left and right. The left-hand wall is the remains of a probably C18 house with doorway and small window openings blocked. One-window has a C17 2-light mullioned-window head reused as a lintel. Part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet set in the ancient field system of this part of Cornwall.
