Description

The building is a barn, likely used as a granary or apple loft over a stable, dating from around the mid-19th century. It features granite rubble walls with granite dressings and a scantle slate roof with gable ends, while a later section has a corrugated iron roof. The structure has a rectangular plan and includes a single-storey extension added in the late 19th century on the right side. There is a flight of external granite steps leading to a first-floor doorway on the left side. The exterior is two storeys high with an irregular arrangement of windows on the north-west front. There is a doorway towards the right, a ventilator window to the left, and a small window opening in the middle of the first floor on both the front and rear. The left-hand end has a ground floor doorway to the right, a small window above it, and a first-floor doorway to the left, which is accessed by another flight of granite steps. The building is part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet situated within the ancient field system of this area of Cornwall.
