Description
This is a roofless house located in Zennor, likely dating from the 18th century, though it may be older. It is constructed from granite moorstone rubble and was probably originally topped with a thatched roof. The house has a rectangular plan and was likely a single storey with two small rooms. A fireplace has been added to the left-hand (south) end. There is a doorway with granite monolithic jambs that leads into the left-hand part of the house, positioned to the left of the middle. Additionally, there are two small window openings in the rear wall. This house, along with a nearby similar structure, resembles the black houses of Scotland and represents a building type that is almost unknown in Cornwall.
