Description
Bosigran Cottage is a house dating from the 18th century, with eaves heightened and extended in the 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a scantle slate roof. The original dressed granite chimney is located over the left-hand gable end, while a later brick chimney is found over the right-hand gable end, along with an external chimney at the gable of a single-storey rear wing. The original layout consists of a two-room house at the front, with a cross passage between the rooms; the wider room on the right was likely the hall or kitchen. In the 19th century, a wide but shallow kitchen wing was added at right angles to the rear. The exterior is two storeys high and has a slightly asymmetrical three-window south front, with a doorway to the left of the middle featuring a 20th-century door. The ground floor window openings are wider and all have late 19th-century horned sashes. The cottage is part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet situated within the ancient field system of this area of Cornwall.
