Description

ZENNOR SW 43 NW 3/247 Farm buildings north of Lower - Porthmeor Farmhouse GV II Farm buildings. Circa early and mid C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Scantle slate roof, far left, otherwise mostly corrugated asbestos roofs, some corrugated iron. Gable ends. Plan: overall L-shaped range built in 4 main phases. Probably mostly shippons. Deeper plan barn, right with granary over shippon and later C19 possibly dairy at right angles to front, right. The barn has thicker walls at part of front possibly surviving from an older building. Loading/winnowing doorway at first floor rear-left of barn with roofless porch (opposite) winnowing opening at front. Exterior: irregular range with 4 roof levels, single storey except for 2 storey barn, right. South-east front with ground sloping down to left. Original doorways and small window openings. Interior: not inspected. Part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet set in the ancient field system of this part of Cornwall.
