Description
This is a barn and adjoining buildings located approximately 50 meters south-southwest of Higher Porthmeor Farmhouse, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The structure is built of granite rubble with granite dressings. The barn features a half-hipped scantle slate roof, while the right-hand building has a scantle slate roof with gable ends. The layout likely includes a granary above a shippon or barn on the left, with long rectangular shippons in the middle and right. There is a later 19th-century outshut at the front left of the barn. The exterior consists of a two-storey barn and shippon with a storage loft mostly within the roof space. The northwest front has four doorways and two windows, along with a doorway into the right-hand wall of the barn outshut, all of which are original openings. The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet situated within the ancient field system of this area of Cornwall.
