Description
This is a barn, likely used as stables with a loft above, along with an adjoining stable on the left and a probable shippon on the right. It dates from around the mid-19th century and is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings. The roof is made of grouted scantle slate and features gable ends.
The building has a small rectangular shape, with a two-storey structure in the center flanked by two single-storey buildings. The southwest front is symmetrical, featuring a two-storey building in the middle that has a central doorway, small flanking window openings, and a pitching eye above the doorway. The left-hand single-storey building has a doorway on its right side, while the right-hand single-storey building has doorways on both the left and right sides, along with a small window opening in between.
The interior has not been inspected. This barn and outbuilding are part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet situated within the ancient field system of this area of Cornwall.
