Description

This building is a barn and an adjoining outbuilding, likely used as stables and a cartshed, located immediately southwest of Western Farmhouse. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings, topped with grouted scantle slate roofs. The barn features a half-hipped roof. The layout consists of a rectangular plan, with the stables and cartshed on the left and the barn on the right. The structure is two storeys high.

On the southeast front, the stables and cartshed are on the left, while the taller two-storey barn is on the right. The elevations remain unaltered. The stables include a window and a doorway, the cartshed has a wide doorway with a window above it, and the barn has three ground floor doorways (with the right-hand doorway blocked), a first floor doorway towards the left, and a window towards the right. The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of an unspoiled hamlet that features an interesting group of farmhouses and farm buildings, all set within a beautiful rural landscape.
