Description
This building is a barn, stable, and attached outbuildings located to the southwest of Home Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a slate roof. The barn has six bays and includes opposed doorways to the right of the center, with the rear partly filled with brickwork and a timber partition at the front. Flanking these doorways are ventilation slits, with a stable door to the left of center and a similar door at the far left. Above these doors are a ventilation slit and a square loft door, all featuring timber lintels. The left gable is stone-coped and has kneelers.
To the left, there is a lower two-bay extension with a stone slate roof, which includes double-leaf doors and a small square window, both with timber lintels. The attached outbuilding to the right has two plank doors on the left, a similar door in the center, a small loft door above, double-leaf doors to the right of center, and a plank door to the right, all with timber lintels. A cupola with a pyramidal roof is situated to the left.
Inside, the barn and stable are divided by a wall in the middle but appear to be of one build, featuring a tie beam collar-truss roof. The outbuilding to the right includes a pigeon-house with a full set of nestings in the left half. This building is included for its group value.
