Description
Long Acre is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with slate roofs and features brick end and ridge stacks on stone bases. The building is designed in an L-plan and has two storeys plus an attic. The main front, which faces the garden to the south, includes a central part-glazed door with a moulded stone and eared surround, a circular window above with a moulded stone surround, and two 3-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, all with moulded stone sills and surrounds. Above the door, there is a sundial and a County fire plaque. The building has quoins, a roof dormer, and stone-coped gables with kneelers. The left gable features a 2-light flat-faced stone mullion window, while similar 2- and 3-light windows are present at the rear. Inside, there is an ogee stop-chamfered spine beam, open fireplaces with stop-chamfered bressumers, a fitted cupboard with shaped shelves, and a stone cellar.
