Description
The Old House is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ironstone dressings and features a slate roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The building has a three-unit lobby-entry plan and is two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range.
The front of the house includes a 20th-century door in a moulded wood surround to the left of centre, alongside a plank door with a timber lintel to the right of centre. There is a central four-light double-chamfered stone-mullion window with a hood mould, a similar two-light window to the left, and a similar three-light window to the right. The first floor has similar three-light leaded windows, except for the window to the left, which has two lights. Small gabled roof dormers are present as well.
Inside, the house features stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
