Description
Priory Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ironstone dressings and features a slate roof. The building has a massive stone ridge stack with four diagonal brick flues and an end stack with a pair of square brick flues. The layout is a 4-unit plan, and the farmhouse is two stories high with a four-window range.
The principal front faces the garden and includes a part-glazed door to the left of center, which has a chamfered stone surround with a four-centred arched head, cut spandrels, and a hood mould. This door is flanked by large three-light casement windows with timber lintels. There is a central three-light ovolo stone mullion window with a hood mould, and to the right, there is a square window with a timber lintel. A similar stone window is located on the first floor to the right, while the first floor center and left feature three-light casements, and there is a two-light casement above the door, all with timber lintels.
Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered spine beams and a blocked stone chimney with a four-centred arch head and overmantel.
