Description
Stone Gables is a 17th-century house located on Helmdon Station Road. The building is constructed of coursed squared limestone and features slate roofs, with a brick ridge stack and stone end stacks. It has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys high with an attic.
The entrance is a part-glazed door situated to the left of the range facing the street, which is topped with a timber lintel and a 19th-century hood. There is a three-light casement window on the ground floor and two-light casements on the first floor, all featuring timber lintels except for the two-light window on the ground floor of the return wing, which has a stone surround and hood mould. The gable ends also have similar windows, and the stone-coped gables are supported by kneelers. The interior has not been inspected.
