Description

Tregothal Cottage is a small farmhouse dating to the early 19th century. It is built of granite rubble with granite dressings and has a scantle slate roof with brick chimneys on the gable ends. One chimney is built over the remains of an earlier dressed chimney. The original layout likely comprised two rooms at the front with a cross passage between them, and two shallow service rooms at the rear, lit by small windows in the gable end. The two-bay south-west front is nearly symmetrical, with a doorway slightly right of centre and an old ledged door. The windows are late 19th or 20th century horned sash windows. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage is part of an unspoiled hamlet containing a group of farmhouses and farm buildings, set within a rural landscape.
