Description

ZENNOR SW 43 NW 3/236 Higher Porthmeor Old Farmhouse - GV II Farmhouse. Circa late C17 or early C18. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Scantle slate roof with external dressed granite stack at left-hand gable end. Plan: 2 rooms with hall/kitchen left, smaller room possibly unheated, right. Central rear opening possibly formerly used as doorway to first-floor. In the C19 the eaves were heightened and the floor and roof structure were renewed. Exterior: 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 2 window south-west front with doorway central to fenestration. Original doorway and ground floor openings. First floor openings, remodelled in the C19. Ledged door, shuttered windows. Interior: large fireplace with oak lintel in left hand part. Part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet set in the ancient field system of this part of Cornwall.
