Description
The building is a linear farm range, consisting of a corn barn and stable, dating from the 19th century. It is two storeys high, with a single-storey stable at the left (eastern) gable end. The walls are made of rubble, and the roof is covered with large slates arranged in diminishing courses, some of which are partly grouted. The main elevation faces north.
From left to right, the first section is a one-storey stable featuring a stable door on the left and a window on the right, which has a hit-and-miss ventilator in the lower panel and a four-pane fixed light in the upper panel. There is also a window on the rear elevation. Next to the stable is a cartshed-granary, which has one cart door with a cambered stone voussoir arch and a dripcourse above it. There is a small window offset above the cart door, and a loading door to the granary on the right. A small window is also present on the rear elevation of the granary, positioned below the eaves.
The corn barn has a widened door at the left end, supported by an RSJ lintel, and features three tall slit vents to the right of the door, with three shorter vents offset above. There is a narrow door at the rear with a cambered stone voussoir arch and a dripcourse. To the right of the barn is a lofted stable, which has a central door with a cambered stone head and dripcourse, flanked by small windows on either side. The ground floor windows have hit-and-miss ventilators beneath a glazed upper part, while the loft windows are fitted with boarded shutters. The building narrows at the right end, where a gable end chimney and a domestic pattern window indicate that at least the upper storey was used for domestic purposes. The main elevation door has been widened, and there is a narrow door at the rear wall.
It is noted that the lofts have been removed from the range.
