Description
Beach View is a house dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with a slate-hung front elevation, covered by a slate roof with gable ends and brick chimney stacks. It was likely originally a pair of double-depth, two-room houses, with entrances in small, hipped, projecting porches on the right and left of the front elevation.
The house has two storeys and an attic, with a near-symmetrical three-window front. The ground floor has a pair of projecting hipped porches with entrance doors in the side elevations. The central part of the main range features two 19th-century four-pane sashes, alongside a 20th-century window. The first floor has three 19th-century four-pane sashes with moulded, exposed sash boxes. Above, there are two gabled dormers, each with a four-pane sash. The interior has not been inspected.
Beach View is prominently situated on Fore Street and is visible from the harbour.
