Description
Lanroe is a house with a store below, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features slate-hanging on the seaward side, likely over a light scantling timber frame. The roof is cement-washed slate with half-hipped ends and rendered brick end stacks. The building is set into the side of a steep slope, with the store facing the harbour and Fore Street at a higher level behind. It has a double depth plan with an entrance from Fore Street on the left-hand side. The seaward elevation on the south has three storeys and a regular two-window front, with the entrance to the store on the right and two 19th-century hornless 12-pane sash windows on the first and second floors. The Fore Street elevation also features 19th-century hornless 12-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected. Lanroe remains relatively unaltered and adds to the picturesque character of the harbour at Port Isaac.
