Description
Castle Cottage is a house dating from around the mid-19th century, constructed from rendered stone rubble with a slate roof featuring gable ends. The left-hand gable end has a projecting stone rubble chimney stack, while the right-hand gable end has a brick chimney stack. The layout is likely a double depth plan, consisting of two front rooms, a central stair hall, and two smaller service rooms at the rear. The building stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a symmetrical two-window front. The central entrance features a 20th-century stable-type door set within a late 19th or early 20th-century gabled timber porch. On the ground and first floors, there are two 19th-century 12-pane sash windows. A full dormer with 20th-century fenestration and a raked roof is located in the center. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage is included for its group value.
