Description
No. 17 on Fore Street in Port Isaac is likely a former store that has been converted into a shop. It dates from around the mid-19th century and is constructed of stone rubble, with the front elevation rendered and painted. The building features a slate roof with hipped ends, although the front slope has been replaced with asbestos slate. There is a brick chimney stack on the right-hand hipped end. The layout is probably a one-room plan, now serving as a shop.
The single-storey elevations face both the harbour and Fore Street. The Fore Street side has a 20th-century plank door on the left and a fixed-light shop window with 20 panes on the right, likely from the 19th century. The rear elevation facing the harbour includes a 20th-century casement window with glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value with other nearby structures.
