Description
Windsor House is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate-hung front elevation. The slate roof has gable ends and projecting stone rubble chimney stacks with brick shafts on the front slope of the roof at the gable ends. There is also a lateral stone rubble chimney stack for the kitchen at the rear on the left side. The house has a double depth plan with a wide central stair hall. The front rooms are heated by end stacks, while the kitchen at the rear is heated by the lateral chimney stack. The pitch of the roof has been altered, and the height of the ridge increased to accommodate an extension. The house is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. On the ground floor, there are two double four-pane sash windows flanking a central stone rubble entrance porch with a slate lean-to roof and a six-panel door. The first floor features two double four-pane sash windows flanking a central single four-pane sash window. Inside, there are original chimney pieces and a staircase.
