Description

No. 80, Helston Road is a late 17th-century farmhouse, later remodelled in the 18th century and now a house within a row. The building is constructed of granite rubble with a steep, dry slate roof and original large rubble end stacks. It has a single-depth plan with a later extension to the rear left. The front of the property features an approximately symmetrical three-window façade. It has 20th-century hornless sash windows with glazing bars, a wide central doorway with a 20th-century ledged door, and evidence of alterations to the original window positions. The interior was altered slightly during a renovation in the 1980s, but retains a large fireplace on the right-hand side, with a chamfered oak lintel. It is one of a row of mainly 18th- and early 19th-century houses.
