Description

No. 59 West Street is a town house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of Killas rubble with granite dressings and features a dry slate roof with brick end stacks and a cast-iron ogee gutter. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall, with a nearly symmetrical three-window front. The windows are late 19th-century four-pane horned sashes, except for the central round-arched window which has a fixed light and a fanlight head. The entrance features a pilastered doorway with coved brackets supporting a plain hood with pendants, leading to a four-panel door with an overlight. The interior has not been inspected. This house is part of a notable row of 19th-century buildings.
