Description

No. 9, Claremont Hill is a late 17th-century house with an 18th-century brick facade. It is timber-framed and has a plain tiled roof. Originally a two-unit plan, the interior layout has been extensively altered. The house is two storeys high and has a two-window front. A central doorway was inserted into a former window opening, with a new, pedimented surround that partially obscures the flat-arched, gauged brick head of the original window. There are paired sash windows to the right, and a blocked doorway to the left. A dormer window is visible within the roof. A rear wall stack is present.
