Description
Scott's Mansion is a house that has been converted for use as shops and offices. It dates from the late 17th century and is constructed of painted brick with a plain tiled hipped roof. The building has two storeys and features attic dormers. It has a five-window range, which is divided into bays by shallow brick pilasters arranged in a 1-3-1 pattern. The ground floor has three inserted shop fronts and a central doorway that provides access to the upper storey. Above, there are 2-pane sash windows, a heavy moulded brick sill band, and oversailing eaves. The building has two stacks on the rear wall. It is said to have been built by the architect James Mason, who also constructed No. 25 Claremont Hill.
