Description
No. 122 is a suburban house located at the end of a row, likely built in the late 18th century and extended in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of rubble with granite dressings on the ground floor and has a rendered first floor, possibly made of cob. It features a steep asbestos slate roof that is hipped on the later wing to the left, and there are three brick end stacks. The house has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high, with an overall four-window range. The original symmetrical three-window front includes a blind window above the central doorway, which is located on the right. The original house has late 19th-century four-pane horned sash windows, while the left wing features a two-storey bay window with horned sashes and moulded cornices. The entrance has an original six-panel door. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is likely to be of interest. The property also includes subsidiary features such as granite-coped forecourt walls with a central gateway flanked by a pair of round-headed granite monolith piers, along with a 20th-century iron gate and railings. This building is included for its group value.
