Description
This is an early to mid-19th century non-conformist chapel, originally built for the Bible Christians, and now converted into squash courts. The front gable end is constructed of painted ashlar with a granite coping and other exposed granite dressings; the side walls are of painted rubble with a concrete tile roof. The building has a rectangular plan and was altered in the late 20th century, with a possible former vestry on the right and an extension to the rear. The front is in a simple Gothic style, with a symmetrical two-window facade. There are blocked openings to the front and side walls; the left-hand return wall has a segmental-arched opening. The central trefoil-headed ventilator sits above two pointed arched windows on the first floor, and a central four-centred arched doorway is below. The interior was altered during the conversion process.
