Description
119 and 121 Meneage Street are a pair of small houses built in the mid-19th century. The front of No. 119, which is on the right, was altered in the late 19th century. The houses have a textured finish that is likely stucco over rubble, and No. 119 has a slurried scantle slate roof that has been replaced with asbestos slate. The eaves project, and there are brick stacks at the ends. The buildings have a double-depth plan and are mirror images of each other. They are two storeys tall and feature a regular two-window arrangement with a central pair of doorways.
No. 119 has late 19th-century horned sash windows, including a two-storey pilastered canted bay with a moulded entablature above each window and a polygonal scantle slate roof topped with a finial. The porches are fretted with scrolled details above elliptical arches. The original six-panel door of No. 119 has four top panels that were later glazed, while No. 121 has a 20th-century door, both of which have overlights. The interior has not been inspected.
