Description
No. 8 Chestnut Road is a house dating from the late 17th century, with 20th-century alterations and additions. It is built from coursed limestone rubble and features a slate roof with brick end stacks. The house has two storeys and an attic, arranged in a two-window range with a two-unit plan. A 20th-century door is located to the right of the centre, set beneath a gabled porch with a wooden lintel. The ground and first floors have two-light casement windows, also with wooden lintels. The building includes quoins and two gabled roof dormers. To the right, there is a 20th-century two-storey extension. Inside, the property features a stop-chamfered spine beam and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
