Description

These are a pair of cottages located in Yardley Gobion, dating from 1667, with alterations made in the 20th century. They are constructed of roughly shaped limestone rubble with an artificial slate roof, and have brick ridge and end stacks set on stone bases. The cottages are two storeys high, with a four-window façade. The layout is based on three units. The ground floor has three-light casement windows to the right and centre, and a two-light casement window to the far left. Similar two-light casement windows are located on the first floor; all windows have wooden lintels. The eaves have been raised using brick. A datestone is set into the right gable, inscribed with the date 1667 and the initials “CH”. Twentieth-century doors are located at the rear. The interior was not inspected.
