Description
This is a cottage located at 1 Chestnut Road, built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features coursed squared limestone walls and a plain-tile roof with brick stacks at each end. The cottage is two stories high and has a two-window range, following a two-unit plan. The central entrance consists of a six-panel part-glazed door, which is topped by a stone lintel with a keyblock. To the right of the door is a three-light casement window, while to the left is a two-light casement window, both with similar stone lintels. On the first floor, there are two-light casement windows with wooden lintels, and the building has a storey band and hollow-chamfered stone eaves. There is a single-storey extension on the left side that features a plank door with a wooden lintel. The interior has not been inspected.
