Description
Charity School House is a cottage built in the late 18th century. It is constructed of squared, coursed limestone and features a slate roof with a brick end stack. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range, following a two-unit plan. In the centre, there is a 19th-century plank door with a brick arch above it. To the right, there is a 20th-century twelve-pane casement window, also with a brick arch. On the first floor to the right, there is an 8-pane, 2-light casement window, and to the left, a 19th-century three-light casement window. To the right of the main structure, there is a 19th-century two-storey, one-unit stone range with a tile roof, featuring a 2-light, 8-pane casement window with a brick arch on the ground floor. Extending forward from the left side of the building is a 19th-century one-storey brick range with a tile roof and a brick end stack, which includes a 19th-century six-panelled door and an 18-pane casement window to the left. Inside, the building features chamfered spine beams and joists. The property is included for its group value.
