Description
Eden's Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 17th century on the right side, with an addition from the 18th century on the left. It is constructed of squared, coursed limestone and lias, topped with a thatched roof. The building features brick ridge and end stacks and stands two storeys tall with a three-window range and a three-unit plan. On the centre left, there is a 20th-century plank door with a gabled hood. Flanking this door, on both floors, are 20th-century two-light casements with wooden lintels.
Inside, the cottage has chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, as well as additional chamfered spine beams with bar stops. The first floor reveals queen strut roof trusses, with the tie beam cut through in the 17th-century section of the house. The attic retains original purlins and some original rafters.
