Description
Ivy Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features thatch and plain-tile roofs, along with brick ridge and end stacks. The cottage is one storey high with an attic and has a three-window range, following a three-unit plan. There is a plank door located to the right of the centre, which has a wooden lintel and is sheltered by a 20th-century gabled timber porch. The windows are 2-light casements on both the ground and first floors, also with wooden lintels. The roof of the right end bay has been raised, with brickwork extending to the first floor. Inside, the cottage contains ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace featuring a chamfered bressumer. A portion of a possible cruck truss remains in the roof, although the rest has been removed.
