Description
The Paddocks is a house that was originally a farmhouse, dating from the early to mid 17th century. It has been altered and extended in the 19th century, with further modifications in the 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a plain tile roof, along with brick stacks at the ends and on the ridge, the latter having a stone base and three diagonal brick flues.
The house is two stories high and has a three-window range, following a three-unit plan. The ground floor has three-light casement windows with wooden lintels, although the windows on the left and right have been replaced in the 20th century. The first floor features two-light casements. The gables are stone-coped and have kneelers. There is also a two-story 19th-century wing at the rear right, which contains the current entrance.
