Description
The Old House is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of squared, coursed limestone with quoins and features a stone slate roof with ashlar end stacks. The building has two storeys plus an attic and a three-window range, following a two-unit plan.
At the center left, there is a doorway with a 20th-century door that is now recessed. To the left, there is a three-light, 18-pane casement window with a wooden lintel. To the right, there is a 20th-century bay window with casements that have glazing bars. On the first floor, there is a range of three 18th-century wood cross casements with stone lintels that include keyblocks. The roof features three 19th-century gabled dormers.
Attached to the right is a one-storey-plus-attic stone range from the 18th century, which has a roof made of tile and stone slate. There is also a further stone range with a coped gable that extends to the rear, which may have originally been an outbuilding. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
