Description
Grange Cottage is an early 18th-century cottage constructed of squared, coursed limestone with some ashlar. It features a 20th-century tile roof with a brick end stack and is one storey plus an attic, with a two-window range and a two-unit plan. The central entrance consists of a 19th-century plank door with a small glazed panel and a large painted lintel above it. To the left, there is a 19th-century, three-light, 24-pane casement window with a wood lintel, while to the right is a two-light casement window with a painted stone lintel. The cottage has two 20th-century dormers on either side and one 19th-century dormer in the center. An extension in brick has been added to the right, which includes another plank door with a wood lintel. To the left of the stone range, there is a moulded datestone inscribed '1603', which may have been reset. The interior is noted for its spine beams and all chamfered joists. The cottage is included for its group value.
