Description
Manor Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse constructed of limestone ashlar with a rebuilt brick gable. It features a stone slate roof with an ashlar ridge stack and a brick end stack on a stone base. The building has two storeys plus an attic and an L-shaped plan, with a two-window range.
The entrance is a 19th-century door located in the angle of the wing, which has a brick arch. The gable end includes a two-light casement window with a brick arch and an old plank door above it. There is also a two-light casement in the gable. On the ground floor, to the left of the main range, there is a 19th-century three-light leaded casement window, and to the right, a four-light casement, both featuring wood lintels.
On the first floor, there are three-light casement windows with flat stone arches on both the left and right sides. A hipped dormer is present as well. To the left, there is an 18th-century brick rendered range with a dentilled brick eaves cornice and a slate roof, which has one wood cross casement with leaded lights on each floor. A large brick rendered porch with a parapet and double doors featuring leaded glazing is also present. The right side of the wing has additional casements with wood lintels.
The rear gable end features a 17th-century two-light wood mullioned window with a wood lintel, while the rear of the main range has an 18th-century two-light leaded casement window on the first floor. There is a stone lean-to with a slate roof and a timber framed and brick lean-to at the rear of the 18th-century range. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
