Description
Vernon House Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse constructed from squared coursed limestone, featuring quoins and coped gables. The roof is a combination of stone-slate and 20th-century tiles, with 20th-century stone ridge and end stacks, although the original bases are still visible. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two stories high with a three-window range. The main range includes a central three-light mullioned window and a gable end window in the wing. The other openings are fitted with 19th-century two- and three-light casements. The central entrance features a 20th-century door with a quoined surround, a stone lintel, and a hood mould with labels. Additionally, there is a small 18th-century range that extends forward from the left side of the farmhouse, consisting of one storey and an attic. The interior has not been inspected but is expected to be of interest.
