Description

Murton Cottage is a 17th-century cottage constructed from coursed limestone rubble, topped with a thatched roof and featuring brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two stories high, with a two-window range that includes three-light mullioned windows with hood moulds and labels on the ground floor, and two-light casements in eyebrow dormers on the first floor. There is a central doorway with a 20th-century glazed door and an old wood lintel. To the left gable end, there is an additional mullioned window with stop-chamfered lights. A 20th-century two-storey thatched stone extension is located on the right side. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
