Description

Yardley Chapel is a nonconformist chapel dated 1825, located on Chestnut Road in Yardley Gobion. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with a slate roof. The front features a central double-leaf door with six panels, a fanlight above, and a round-arched brick head. This is flanked by blocked windows with similar round-arched brick heads, with the window on the left blocked by a small lean-to addition. Above are three windows, also with round-arched brick heads and timber Y-tracery. A blank lunette is present in the gable, within a brick surround, and inscribed "YARDLEY CHAPEL/1825". The interior contains a panelled gallery supported by pairs of timber Tuscan pillars. A clock face is set into the gallery front, signed "Walter Prestidge, Towcester". There is also a panelled pulpit.
